Which Textbook is best for me?
Students often ask us which textbooks we use. Here are some recommendations for students pursuing health professions.
1. Undergraduate or Introductory Texts
There are a few good introductory textbooks for students who have not yet taken physiology.
- Human Physiology: From Cells to Systems, Lauralee Sherwood
- Human Physiology: An Integrated Approach, Dee Silverthorn
2. Combined Anatomy & Physiology Texts
These texts are used in course that teach anatomy and physiology together
1. Human Anatomy & Physiology, Marieb & Hoehn
2. Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology, Martini & Nath
3. Clinical Texts
Clinically focused texts are used for graduate level courses in medicine, nursing and physician assistant studies. The two classics are:
1. Medical Physiology, Guyton & Hall
2. Clinically Oriented Anatomy, Moore, Dailey & Agur
